Google to Invest $15 Billion in AI Hub in Vizag in Partnership with Adani, Airtel.
Tech giant Google has announced a landmark $15 billion investment to establish India’s first artificial intelligence (AI) hub in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. The project, set to roll out between 2026 and 2030, will be developed in partnership with Adani Group and Bharti Airtel.
The AI hub will include a 1-gigawatt (1GW) data centre campus, new large-scale renewable energy infrastructure, and a significantly expanded fibre-optic and subsea cable network. These developments aim to transform Visakhapatnam into a major AI and connectivity hub, serving both domestic and international markets.
The initiative is being developed through AdaniConneX — a joint venture between Adani Group and EdgeConneX — and supported by Airtel's extensive network capabilities.
Once complete, it will become Google’s largest AI facility outside the United States, powered by the same infrastructure that drives core services like Search, YouTube, and Workspace.
