Godawari Power and Ispat Ltd Announces 1 MTPA Steel Plant Project.

The Board of Directors of Godawari Power and Ispat Limited recently approved a proposal to set up an integrated steel plant with an annual capacity of 1 million tonnes of iron and steel finished products. The plant will produce heavy and medium section structural steel as well as wire rods, aiming to strengthen the company’s footprint in the steel sector and meet growing domestic demand.

The new facility is planned at Sarora village, Tehsil Tilda, in Raipur district, Chhattisgarh, approximately 50 km from Raipur city. The project is estimated to cost ₹7,000 crore and will be funded through a mix of debt and equity (internal accruals) in a 1:1 ratio.
