Freyr Energy Aims to Solarize 10,000 Homes in Kerala by 2027.
Leading solar rooftop company Freyr Energy has set an ambitious goal to install solar systems in 10,000 homes across Kerala by 2027, supporting the state’s push for clean and affordable energy adoption.
The company, which has already installed 1.27 MW of rooftop solar across Kerala — including 748 kW in Thiruvananthapuram, 171 kW in Kochi, and 169 kW in Kozhikode — plans to expand its footprint to more districts, according to Radhika Choudary, Co-founder and Director of Freyr Energy.
Kerala’s electricity consumption has surged in recent years, surpassing 100 million units per day on April 19, 2023, highlighting the growing need for renewable solutions. By enabling households to adopt solar power, Freyr Energy aims to significantly reduce reliance on the grid, helping consumers cut power bills by up to 80%, Choudary added.
