FACT special unit to start manufacturing barges.

FACT Engineering Works (FEW), the fabrication division of the public sector FACT, will start manufacturing barges and the first barge it manufactures will be owned by FACT and used for transporting liquefied ammonia to the different divisions of FACT.

The move assumes significance at a time when FACT had recently started ammonia transportation through waterways by hiring a barge with a capacity to carry 192 tonnes per trip. However, the full requirement of ammonia cannot be met by this barge alone and the company is also depending on road movement of gas to meet its production requirements.
