DHL Express Boosts Bengaluru Operations with ₹35 Cr Expansion.

International logistics powerhouse DHL Express has significantly expanded its footprint at Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) in Bengaluru, investing approximately ₹35 crore to add an additional 17,900 square feet to its operational area. This expansion brings DHL's total operational space at KIA to a substantial 130,000 square feet and includes a new purpose-built service center at the AISATS Bengaluru Logistics Park.

"Around 31 percent of our country’s total volume flows through Bengaluru," stated R.S. Subramanian, Senior Vice President South Asia, DHL Express. He highlighted the strategic importance of the Bengaluru gateway, noting that it processes shipments not only for the city itself but also for a broader South India region, encompassing major hubs like Hyderabad, Coimbatore, Mysuru, Kochi, and large parts of Chennai. This extensive reach is facilitated by DHL's dedicated freighter connectivity through Bengaluru Airport.

Subramanian referred to Bengaluru as the company’s 'South catchment hub,' emphasizing its critical role in processing shipments for nearly the entire southern region. The integration of this new service center is anticipated to markedly improve shipment processing times and enhance throughput capacity, positioning DHL Express to efficiently manage both current and projected volume growth.
