Devanur Tank Bund road to be repaired.
The work to repair the Devanur tank bund road connecting Rajiv Nagar with N.R. Mohalla would soon be taken up at an estimated Rs. 1.36 crore.
Tanvir Sait, MLA, told The Hindu that tender for the repair work had been issued by the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) and work would start soon.
The work to repair the tank bund road was among a series of works launched by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah during his visit to Mysuru in April.
The road, which was developed into a double road with a median a couple of years ago, was now in a deplorable state with the road on one side of the median, where shrubs and vegetation had grown, becoming inaccessible to motorists. 'The double road will be restored during the works,' he said.
Also, the road portion of the tank bund road connecting Rajiv Nagar with N.R. Mohalla near Ganesh Nagar had not been asphalted for more than three years now.
Motorists are making do with the non-tarred and gravel ridden road to reach their destination.
With expansion of Mysuru towards the north eastern side with houses coming up in new layouts, the Devanur tank bund road has emerged as an arterial road linking residents of the new layouts.
