Delhi Municipal Corporation Standing Committee to Review Over 70 Pending Project Proposals.
The Municipal Corporation of Delhi's (MCD) newly constituted Standing Committee is set to hold its first meeting next week, with a formidable agenda that includes reviewing over 70 crucial project proposals that have been awaiting approval for the past two and a half years.
Following the recent election of its chairman, the committee's inaugural session is also expected to address urgent matters such as hospital equipment acquisition and medical gas supplies.
Approximately 125 proposals may initially be presented at the meeting, though this number could be reduced to ensure all members have ample opportunity to review and address any issues. Standing Committee Chairperson Satya Sharma emphasized that priority would be given to proposals related to sanitation and vital development projects.
Among the significant projects awaiting layout plan approval are the DTC group housing in Hari Nagar, new Delhi University hostel buildings near Dhaka, a revision of the Moolchand Hospital layout plan, changes to the Sanjay Gandhi Transport Nagar layout, and various resettlement schemes in Sultanpuri and Mangolpuri. The committee's ability to swiftly address these long-pending proposals will be crucial for the timely progress of these essential civic and developmental initiatives across the capital.
