Delhi Metro's Huda City Centre line to extend up to Manesar.
The Delhi Metro's Yellow Line, from Jahangirpuri to Huda City Centre, will now go all the way to Manesar/Gurgaon.
The detailed project report (DPR) for the extension will be ready in another six months, a senior official of the Haryana government said. Once the DPR is ready, the Haryana government will approach the Centre for project approval, the official said.
He said the stretch will be over 30 km long. It will run alongside the northern and the southern peripheral roads, which are around 16 and 10 km long, respectively.
'About five months ago, we awarded the task of preparing the DPR to US-based Aecom, one of the leading consultant firms in the field of structural engineering. The company was given a deadline of 11 months. Six months are already over and, if things remain on schedule, we will approach the Central government for approval soon,' he said.
According to officials, the extension is part of the Mass Rapid Transport System connecting Gurgaon, Manesar, Bawal, Rewari and Neemrana - an 'early bird project' of the Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor Development Corporation in the Manesar-Bawal investment region of Haryana.
