Delhi Government Clears Over ₹1,000 Crore Worth Projects to Revive Yamuna Under New Plan.

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta recently approved mega infrastructure projects worth over ₹1,000 crore under the ‘Mission Yamuna’ initiative aimed at accelerating river rejuvenation and improving the capital’s water management systems.

According to the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), the funding package is specifically targeted at the comprehensive cleaning of the Najafgarh Drain, large-scale upgrades of sewage treatment infrastructure, and the deployment of advanced water management systems across the city.

The initiative is part of the government’s broader effort to improve the ecological condition of the Yamuna and strengthen urban environmental infrastructure in Delhi.

Earlier, the Chief Minister, along with Cabinet Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa and MLA Harish Khurana, carried out an on-ground inspection of “Made in India” state-of-the-art air purification technologies on Saturday.

Officials said the review is part of ongoing efforts to evaluate new pollution-control solutions alongside the long-term restoration plan for the Yamuna river system.
