"Companies Set to Invest ₹1,700 Crore for Data Centers in Proximity to Noida International Airport"

In a strategic move towards fostering the development of data centers, two Fortune 500 companies, Sify Infinit Spaces and Jackson Limited, have been allocated 5-acre industrial land parcels each in YEIDA's Sector 28. Situated along the Yamuna Expressway and in close proximity to the upcoming Noida International Airport, these plots are poised to become key hubs for cutting-edge technology infrastructure.

The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has allotted these plots as part of its scheme for data center parks launched in Sector 28 earlier this year. Out of the available five plots, three applications were received, leading to a meticulous evaluation process by the allotment committee. Following project presentations, Sify Infinit Spaces and Jackson Limited emerged as the chosen entities to invest a combined sum of Rs 1,757.5 crore in these projects, paving the way for the creation of 775 job opportunities.

Sify, a leader in the sector, is well-versed in providing comprehensive data solutions, while Jackson Limited has a notable presence in the solar energy, generators, and transformers domain. This collaboration aligns with the growing trend of Gautam Budh Nagar evolving into a data center hub.

The demand for data center infrastructure in the region has surged, exemplified by the establishment of the state's first data center by the Hiranandani Group in the Greater Noida Authority area last year. Hiranandani Group, allotted 20 acres of land in Knowledge Park 5, has further plans for expansion, with three buildings set to be ready by 2024. The group has committed a substantial investment of Rs 39,000 crore over the next five to seven years.

Sify had previously signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the government at the UP Global Investor Summit in Lucknow earlier this year, laying the foundation for its participation in the Yamuna Authority scheme.

Gautam Budh Nagar's inclination towards becoming a data center hub continues to attract major players, with Microsoft, MAQ, and the Adani Group also securing land for similar projects. Adani Group, in particular, has been allotted two land parcels, proposing an investment exceeding Rs 7,400 crore and the creation of over 3,700 jobs in Sectors 62 and 80. As these initiatives unfold, the district is poised to solidify its position as a key player in India's rapidly evolving data center landscape.
