Chief Minister convenes meeting on Kochi metro.
Chief Minister Oommen Chandy will chair a meeting of agencies concerned and people's representatives on April 29 in Thiruvanathapuram to discuss issues pertaining to the progress of the Kochi Metro Rail project.
According to an official statement from the Kochi Metro Rail Limited, the meeting is being held to evolve solutions to the burning issues affecting the progress of the project and senior officials from all departments concerned including Finance, Revenue, PWD, KSEB, KWA and representatives from the Kochi Corporation, and the GCDA would participate in the meeting along with KMRL and DMRC.
The issues like land purchase order which will permit Kochi Metro to buy land directly from the owners as the new Land Acquisition acts are yet to be in place, St. Albert's College ground, land acquisition on Vyttila–Petta road, extension of the Metro to Tripunithura, funds for Pachalam ROB, and Edappally flyover will be discussed at the meeting. It will discuss ways to improve the traffic conditions in the city.
