Chennai Becomes Renault's Hub for India-Centric Car Design.

French automotive giant Renault has inaugurated its state-of-the-art Renault Design Centre Chennai (RDCC), marking its most significant design footprint outside of France. Strategically located within the Renault Nissan Technology & Business Centre India campus at Mahindra City, this new hub underscores Renault's commitment to the Indian market.

The newly established RDCC will play a pivotal role in shaping Renault's future product lineup for India, taking charge of the design for all five models slated for launch in the country over the next two years. The facility currently houses a team of over 30 skilled design professionals dedicated to understanding and catering to the unique demands of Indian consumers.

Speaking at the inauguration, Laurens van den Acker, Chief Design Officer, Renault Group, emphasized the strategic importance of the new center. "India is a unique and complex market shaped by local consumer preferences. Establishing a dedicated design studio here is essential to truly understand these dynamics and create relevant solutions," he stated.

Beyond its focus on India-specific vehicles, the Chennai studio is also poised to contribute its design expertise to global projects within the Renault Group. This dual role highlights the growing significance of India as a key market and a valuable source of design innovation for the automaker. The establishment of the RDCC signals Renault's long-term vision for India, aiming to create vehicles that resonate deeply with local tastes and preferences while also contributing to the brand's worldwide design language.
