CESC revives 1300 MW Balagarh Thermal Power Project

CESC revives  1300 MW Balagarh Thermal Power Project Kokatta CESC has revived the long-shelved 1,300 Mw Balagrah thermal power plant in West Bengal's Hooghly district.

The company planning to go ahead with the project with super critical plants which will increase capacity from 500 Mw proposed earlier.

The terms of reference for environmental clearance was currently being worked on the project.

A study was conducted by Babcock to look into the feasibility of the project with bank protection to prevent water entering the area which has been approved.

CESC has 800 acre of land in its possession for the project. The RPG group had proposed a 2x250 Mw thermal plant at the site in 2000-01.
