BMC Accelerates Completion of Dindoshi-Goregaon Flyover.

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has directed officials to fast-track the completion of the Dindoshi-Goregaon-Dadasaheb Phalke Film City flyover, a crucial part of the Goregaon-Mulund Link Road (GMLR). Contractors have been instructed to work in three shifts with additional manpower to ensure early completion and swift traffic movement.

During an inspection on March 6, officials reviewed progress on the six-lane, 1,265-metre-long flyover, which forms a key segment of the 12.2-km GMLR, designed to improve connectivity between Mumbai’s eastern and western suburbs.

A major element of the project is the construction of twin underground tunnels from Dadasaheb Phalke Film City to Khindipada in Mulund. Each 4.7-km tunnel will run beneath Sanjay Gandhi National Park to ease congestion and reduce travel time.

The tunnel boring machine (TBM) is expected to arrive in August, and the Film City management has been requested to allocate land for TBM equipment. BMC officials have been directed to follow up on land availability, while an alternative road is being developed within Film City to facilitate construction activities.
