"Bharti Enterprises eyes Karnataka for new data center venture; Minister M.B. Patil confirms interest."

With Sify Technologies set to inaugurate a new data centre facility in Karnataka shortly, Bharti Enterprises has expressed interest in establishing a data centre in the State, Large and Medium Industries Minister M.B. Patil said.

Speaking at the World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Meeting in Davos, Mr. Patil said the State delegation, comprising Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar and himself, held a series of high-level meetings with global corporations, technology companies and academic institutions.

Sify Technologies has already made significant investments in data centre infrastructure in Bengaluru, further strengthening Karnataka’s position as a key digital infrastructure hub. The discussions at Davos also explored the development of data centres in Tier-2 cities across the State to promote balanced regional growth, supported by improved connectivity, power availability and infrastructure.
