Bengaluru to Introduce Double-Deck Flyover with Metro Trains on Upper Level
Bengaluru is set to introduce a unique infrastructure development along its Yellow Line corridor, featuring a double-deck flyover extending from Ragi Gudda to Central Silk Board. The innovative structure will accommodate vehicles on the lower deck while facilitating Metro trains on the upper level. The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) aims to partially open the road flyover segment between Ragi Gudda and Central Silk Board by the end of this month.
The double-deck flyover incorporates three ramps at Central Silk Board, strategically designed to streamline traffic flow. Initially, the lower deck will cater to motorists traveling from Ragi Gudda towards HSR Layout (Outer Ring Road) and Electronics City (Hosur Road). Delays due to rainfall pushed back the original May timeline for ramp openings, with officials now targeting completion by June.
Future construction plans include ramps from HSR Layout to BTM Layout, slated for completion over the next year. The Yellow Line's innovative infrastructure aims to enhance connectivity and alleviate traffic congestion along key routes in Bengaluru, reinforcing the city's commitment to sustainable urban mobility solutions.
