Balrampur Chini Projects ₹2,000 Crore Revenue from PLA Facility.

Balrampur Chini Mills expects its PLA vertical, set to commission India’s first industrial-scale bio-based Polylactic Acid (PLA) manufacturing unit in Uttar Pradesh this October, to achieve annual revenue of around ₹2,000 crore at full capacity.

The facility, located in Kumbhi, Uttar Pradesh, will have an annual production capacity of 80,000 tonnes and is projected to reach full capacity within six months of commissioning.

“We envisage a peak revenue potential of ₹2,000 crore, with guidance indicating an EBITDA of around 35 per cent,” said Avantika Saraogi, Executive Director of Balrampur Chini Mills. The PLA unit marks a significant step in the company’s push into bio-based and high-value chemical products.
