Atlas Copco Group has inaugurated a new 270,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility in Talegaon, Pune, designed to produce air and gas compressors, including CNG, biogas, and hydrogen compressors, as well as air dryers, nitrogen and oxygen generators, and medical filtration accessories.
Built on Industry 4.0 principles, the facility incorporates smart manufacturing technologies and sustainability initiatives. It sources 80% of its energy from a 1.3 MW rooftop solar system and grid supply, alongside rainwater harvesting and advanced cooling systems.
The plant is equipped with multiple testing capabilities and supports research and development for future innovations. It also holds ISO 9001, ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and ISO 50001 certifications, ensuring compliance with high-quality, safety, and environmental standards.
Announced in 2023, the facility reinforces Atlas Copco’s focus on innovation, efficiency, and sustainability in India.
“This new facility is equipped with cutting-edge technology to cater to local demand, ensuring shorter lead times and greater capacity,” said Philippe Ernens, President of Compressor Technique Business Area. “It enables us to offer a wider range of products, meet market expectations, and provide better lifecycle support.”
Thierry Monart, Vice President and Managing Director of Atlas Copco (India) Pvt Ltd., highlighted the significance of the launch, stating, “This facility not only strengthens our commitment to localization but also plays a vital role in driving job creation and skill development. By fostering local talent and innovation, we aim to contribute meaningfully to India’s manufacturing ecosystem.”
