Atishi to Inaugurate Six-Lane Punjabi Bagh Flyover Today.
The much-awaited Punjabi Bagh Club Road flyover is set to be inaugurated on Friday by Delhi Chief Minister Atishi. This 1.1 km-long six-lane flyover is expected to significantly ease traffic flow towards Punjabi Bagh and Paschim Vihar. The new flyover will facilitate smoother movement between Azadpur and Raja Garden, improving connectivity between key areas.
The flyover, which stretches from the ESI Metro Station to Punjabi Bagh Club Road, is part of a larger corridor redevelopment project. Initially slated for completion in January, the project faced multiple delays, with deadlines extended to April and then December.
In March, former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal inaugurated one section of the corridor, the Moti Nagar flyover. However, work on the pedestrian underpass and footpath remains unfinished, with the delay attributed to the requirement of permissions to fell 33 trees.
