Ashok Leyland Launches New Manufacturing Plant in Andhra Pradesh.

Hinduja Group’s flagship company, Ashok Leyland, has commissioned a new manufacturing facility at Mallavalli Model Industrial Park near Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh.

The plant was formally inaugurated recently by Andhra Pradesh’s Minister for IT and Education, Nara Lokesh. Spread over 75 acres, the facility will manufacture BS-VI compliant buses and is set to provide employment to 600 people in the first phase, with an additional 1,200 jobs expected in the second phase.

“The plant will have an annual production capacity of 4,800 buses. This marks a significant milestone not just for Ashok Leyland but also for Andhra Pradesh,” Lokesh stated during the inauguration.

In addition to producing BS-VI buses, the facility will also handle body-building operations for electric buses, reinforcing Ashok Leyland’s commitment to sustainable mobility solutions.
