Arcelor Mittal does not rule out Karnataka for upcoming steel plant.

Arcelor Mittal said it has not ruled out Karnataka as a potential location for the automotive steel manufacturing facility it is setting up jointly with Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL).

Both the steel makers are working with Roland Berger Strategy Consultant to undertake a comprehensive study on potential locations.

A team from Roland Berger Strategy Consultant had met landowners in Hubli in Karnataka earlier this month.

Karnataka chief minister Siddaramaiah early this week had said there was no representation from the companies to seek land for the proposed project.

'We are in the process of assessing options so would't rule anything in or out at this stage,' ArcelorMittal spokesperson said in a statement.
