Apple Commits ₹100 Crore to Power Indian Supply Chain with Clean Energy.

Apple recently announced an investment of ₹100 crore in India to expand renewable energy capacity and strengthen clean energy adoption across its supply chain, according to a company blog post.

The investment, being made in partnership with CleanMax, will support the development of more than 150 megawatts of new renewable energy capacity in the country. Apple said the initial funding is expected to generate enough clean power to supply an average of 150,000 Indian households annually.

The company added that the renewable energy capacity could be expanded further in the coming years as part of its broader sustainability efforts in India.

Apple and CleanMax have previously collaborated on rooftop solar projects aimed at powering Apple’s offices and retail stores in India entirely through renewable energy. According to the company, those initiatives helped its India operations run on 100 per cent renewable energy.
