Andhra Pradesh Forms Data Centre Advisory Council to Target 6,000 MW Capacity by 2030.

Riding on the momentum from Google’s recent AI Data Centre investment in Visakhapatnam, the Andhra Pradesh Government has set up a Data Centre Advisory Council with the goal of achieving 6,000 MW of data centre capacity by 2030.

A senior official said the council’s formation builds on the Andhra Pradesh Data Centre Policy 4.0 and aims to translate major announcements—such as Google’s 1 GW and Sify Infinity’s 550 MW projects—into accelerated data centre development across the state.

The council will be chaired by Nara Lokesh, Minister for Information Technology, Electronics and Communications (ITE&C), and will include key leaders from the data centre industry.
