AIIMS-Rishikesh OPD services inaugurated.

Healthcare in Uttarakhand got a boost with the inauguration of OPD services at the All-India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Rishikesh by Union Health Secretary Keshav Desi Raju.

Initially 25 doctors specialising in different branches will be available at the OPD, Mr. Raju said, adding that a 50-bed indoor service will also be operationalised at AIIMS-Rishikesh by July this year.

AIIMS-Rishikesh is one of the six apex healthcare institutes being established by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in different cities across the country under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojna. It is being established on the lines of AIIMS-Delhi to overcome regional imbalances in quality healthcare and attaining self-sufficiency in graduate and postgraduate medical education and training.
