Agnikul Cosmos Secures ICEYE Pact for SAR Satellite Launches.

Space startup Agnikul Cosmos has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with global Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) satellite maker ICEYE to collaborate on satellite launches and the development of SAR capabilities in India.

As part of the agreement, ICEYE will explore establishing local SAR satellite manufacturing capabilities in India, while leveraging Agnikul Cosmos' launch vehicles and infrastructure to support future missions.

Srinath Ravichandran, Co-founder of Agnikul Cosmos, said the partnership goes beyond providing launch services and aims to build an integrated SAR intelligence ecosystem in the country.

"Our objective is not just to launch satellites but to create an end-to-end SAR intelligence capability for India. We are combining our launch vehicles with ICEYE's technologies and our own capabilities while building ground-up infrastructure to enable a range of high-impact applications," Ravichandran told businessline.

The collaboration is expected to strengthen India's domestic space ecosystem by combining satellite manufacturing, launch capabilities and downstream infrastructure for SAR-based applications.
