Adani to set up solar project in Jaisalmer.

Adani Power has started searching for land for setting up 2000 megawatt solar power project. Senior officials of the company had recently come to Jaisalmer. Sources confirmed that Adani Power will set up its solar project in Jaisalmer.

A few days ago, senior officer of the company had come to Jaisalmer and were looking for land in Ramgarh area including Parwar and other villages. Sources said that Adani Power vice-president had come to Jaisalmer and had talked to the district administration in this regard.

Sources said the state government and Adani Power will soon a sign an MoU for the project in Jaisalmer. District collector Vishwamohan Sharma said that on the state government's directions, land has been identified for solar and wind projects in many places in the district.

He said that reserved land include 34381 bighas in Bhaniyana tehsil, 23186 bighas in Pokaran Tehsil, 208734 bighas in Jaisalmer tehsil and 304879 bighas in Fatehgarh tehsil totalling to 571117 bigas. Of this, 435142 bighas of land is barren.
