Adani Cement Completes World’s Largest Raft Foundation Casting for Umiya Dham Temple.
Adani Cement, in partnership with its associate PSP Infra, has completed the raft foundation casting for the upcoming Jagat Janani Maa Umiya Temple near Ahmedabad, setting a world record for the largest religious temple raft foundation. The project involved a continuous 54-hour operation using 24,100 cubic meters of ECOMaxX M45 grade low-carbon concrete, a proprietary mix developed by Adani Cement that reduces the carbon footprint by 60 percent through 66 percent Supplementary Cementitious Material.
The raft foundation measures 450 feet by 400 feet and is 8 feet deep, designed to support 1,551 Dharma Stambhs for the 504-foot-tall temple, which will be the centerpiece of a social and cultural campus in Jaspur. Advanced temperature control and real-time monitoring using embedded thermocouples ensured the integrity and durability of the foundation throughout the process.
Vinod Bahety, CEO of Adani Cement, highlighted the temple as an iconic spiritual landmark with an investment of around ₹2,000 crore, praising the sustainable construction efforts. RP Patel, President of the Vishv Umiya Foundation, lauded Adani Cement’s expertise in mega-project execution. The foundation casting was witnessed by over 1,000 attendees on-site and more than 10,000 online, marking a significant milestone in India's cultural and engineering heritage.
