₹ 36 cr. for Srikakulam, Amadalavalasa road.

Minister for Transport K. Atchannaidu on Tuesday said the government had sanctioned ₹36 crore for the development of road network from Srikakulam RTC Complex to Amadalavalasa.

He said that the widening of the road would benefit thousands of people travelling between the two towns. Speaking at the Zilla Parishad general body meeting, the Minister said the government would also improve road network in other areas of the district. He asked R and B officials to complete land acquisition process immediately so that the works could be taken up on priority basis.

The Minister has directed the district officials to make Srikakulam district as Open Defecation Free by March 2018. Mr. Atchannaidu congratulated Collector K. Dhananjaya Reddy and Joint Collector KVN Chakradhar Babu for successfully completing land acquisition process for the construction of Vamsadhara phase-2.

Earlier, Palasa MLA Gowthu Shyam Sundar Shivaji, Patapatnam MLA Kalamata Mohana Rao and others expressed concern over inordinate delay in completing the proposed projects in their respective constituencies.

Amadalavalasa MLA and whip Kuna Ravikumar and Zilla Parishad chairperson Chowdary Dhana Lakshmi directed the officials to pay attention over the proposals submitted by the public representatives.

MP Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu sought more funds for the development of backward areas in the Parliamentary constituency. Srikakulam ZP CEO B.Nagesh and senior officials were present.
