600 megawatt unit of Anpara thermal plant to resume production from Wednesday.

A 600 MW unit of Anpara thermal plant which is closed from May 29 due to shortage of coal will start production soon, providing some relief to power starved Uttar Pradesh.

The power plant will be getting 30 metric tonnes of coal from Northern Coalfield Limited (NCL) instead of existing 25 metric tonnes. A 600-MW unit of Anpara, which was closed due to shortage of coal will start generation soon, Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Managing Director A P Mishra told reporters.
