3F Oil Palm Launches Operations at Oil Palm Processing Unit in Arunachal Pradesh
On Saturday, 3F Oil Palm initiated commercial operations at its oil palm processing unit located in Roing, situated in the lower Dibang Valley of Arunachal Pradesh.
This integrated oil palm project encompasses various facilities including a palm oil processing and refinery unit, a zero-discharge effluent plant, a palm waste-based power plant, and additional structures and warehouses for supporting operations.
The inauguration of the processing unit was conducted virtually by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on March 9, 2024. During the Viksit Bharat - Viksit Northeast event in Arunachal Pradesh, PM Modi emphasized the government's commitment to the palm oil mission, particularly focusing on the Northeast region. He underscored the mission's role in achieving self-reliance and boosting farmer income, expressing gratitude to the Northeast farmers for their dedication to palm cultivation.
Sanjay Goenka, Managing Director & CEO of 3F Oil Palm Pvt Limited, commented on the occasion, stating, "With the ever-increasing demand for edible oils, palm oil has become an important component to ensure food security of the nation." He highlighted the significance of the commencement of operations at the country's first oil palm processing unit in Arunachal Pradesh, affirming its role in promoting domestic oilseed production. Goenka further outlined the company's investment plans, noting an investment of ₹100 crore already made in the region and planned investments of ₹1100 crore in Assam and Arunachal Pradesh by 2030, which are expected to create job opportunities for 1,700 people.
