191 MW power projects approved in Haryana

Haryana has approved detailed project reports for 21 biomass power projects of total capacity of 191MW. These projects will be set up by independent power producers.

The land for six projects of 57.5MW has already been acquired. Of these, one project of 9.5MW capacity at Dhana Narsan village is likely to be commissioned by September.

The electricity generated from these projects would be purchased by the power utilities at rates decided by the Haryana Electricity Regulatory Commission. As many as nine biomass cogeneration projects of 18.95MW capacity had been commissioned in various industries to meet their captive power and steam requirements.
