Zubza railway line project: Arrive late after land owners clear deck

The much anticipated railway link to Zubza under the North East Frontier Railway is to progress on track after land owners clear deck.

The railway line in the plain sector would cover an approximate 30 km stretch. The project would be implemented in a phased manner. The first phase of the project will commence from Thahekhu to Chumukedima, the second phase from Chumukedima to Tsiepama and, the third from Tsiepama to Zubza. Earlier, uncertainty prevailed over implementation of railhead to Zubza owing to dissension among the landowners on the rate
of compensation.
