Titagarh Naval Systems Secures In-Principle Nod for ₹610 Crore Shipyard Expansion in West Bengal.

Titagarh Naval Systems Ltd (TNSL) recently said it has received in-principle approval from the Union Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways for its brownfield expansion project at Falta in West Bengal.

The proposed project, to be undertaken under the Centre’s Shipbuilding Development Scheme, involves an investment of around ₹610 crore and is aimed at enhancing shipbuilding and maritime manufacturing capabilities in the country, the company said in a regulatory filing.

As part of the scheme, the government will provide capital assistance of approximately ₹129 crore towards eligible plant and machinery, subject to compliance with prescribed guidelines. The expansion is expected to strengthen domestic shipbuilding capacity and support growth in the maritime sector.
