Thirumangalam flyover to be ready by March.

After a delay of months, work has resumed on the flyover at Thirumangalam on Jawaharlal Nehru Salai. It is expected to be ready by March 2015.

Sources in the highways department said they had been waiting for Metro Rail tunnelling work to be completed on the stretch.

The core of the flyover, with 21 deck slabs and an approach ramp on Anna Nagar West side, has already been completed. Work has now commenced on the ramp on the Koyambedu side.

'We have asked the contractor to speed up the work,' said an official.

Work on the 896-metre-long flyover had been slated to be finished by June 2014 but was delayed due to a change in the design.
