The Standard opens Bengaluru GCC, ramps up India presence.

US-based insurance and financial services firm The Standard has opened its Global Capability Centre (GCC) at Embassy Tech Village, marking a significant step in expanding its technology and enterprise capabilities in India.

The new centre in Bengaluru will focus on strengthening functions such as software engineering, artificial intelligence, and broader enterprise operations. The move underscores the company’s strategy to leverage India’s growing talent pool and digital ecosystem.

The Standard had formally entered the Indian market in November 2025 with the launch of its GCC entity, StanCorp Global Services India Pvt Ltd, establishing operations in both Bengaluru and Pune.

The expansion comes as Bengaluru continues to dominate India’s GCC landscape, hosting an estimated 875 to 900 centres and accounting for over 35 per cent of the country’s total GCC presence.
