Thales Expands Global R&D Network with New Bengaluru Centre.
French aerospace and defence giant Thales has inaugurated a new R&D centre in Bengaluru, named Thales Research & Technology India, marking India’s entry into the company’s network of five global corporate research hubs, alongside France, the UK, Canada, and Singapore.
The launch was timed with the India AI Impact Summit and coincides with the India-France Year of Innovation 2026, underscoring the growing tech collaboration between the two nations.
Located within Thales’ Engineering Competence Centre in Bengaluru, the new facility will focus on real-time embedded software, edge computing, and embedded AI, while also exploring open-source hardware concepts. The initiative is aimed at strengthening Thales’ innovation capabilities in emerging technologies and supporting its global R&D agenda.
