Telangana Seeks Defence Ministry Nod for Adilabad Airport Expansion.

Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy recently urged Defence Minister Rajnath Singh to develop the upcoming Adilabad Airport with comprehensive infrastructure and modern facilities, highlighting its strategic importance for both civilian and defence purposes.

During a meeting with the Defence Minister in New Delhi, Reddy assured the Centre of the state government's full cooperation in the expansion of the airport, which is being developed under the aegis of the Indian Air Force (IAF).

Emphasising the project's significance to national security and regional development, the Chief Minister said Telangana would extend all necessary support for the airport's development and related infrastructure.

Reddy also requested the Union Defence Minister to facilitate the establishment of large-scale cargo, Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO), and aircraft hangar facilities at the site. He proposed that these facilities be developed alongside the planned Indian Air Force terminal and the civil aviation terminal to enhance passenger convenience and boost aviation-related economic activity in the region.

The proposed infrastructure is expected to strengthen Adilabad's connectivity and position the airport as a key aviation hub serving both defence and commercial aviation needs.
