Tata Power Commissions New 100.8 MW Wind Energy Project in Maharashtra.

Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd (TPREL) recently said it has commissioned its 100.8 MW Jewali Wind Project in Maharashtra's Dharashiv district, expanding its renewable energy portfolio.

The project will supply electricity to Tata Power Mumbai Distribution and help the utility meet its Renewable Purchase Obligation (RPO) requirements, the company said.

The wind farm comprises 28 SG 3.6-145 horizontal-axis wind turbine generators and is expected to generate about 299 million units of electricity annually. According to the company, the project is estimated to offset around 245 million kg of carbon dioxide emissions each year, based on an emissions reduction of 0.82 kg of CO₂ per unit of electricity generated.

With the commissioning of the project, TPREL's total wind energy portfolio has crossed 3.9 GW, including more than 1.3 GW of operational capacity. The company has additional wind projects under various stages of development across Rajasthan, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.
