Tamil Nadu CM Stalin Conducts Site Visit to Anna Salai Elevated Corridor.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. K. Stalin recently inspected the ongoing construction of a four-lane elevated corridor being built by the Highways Department on Anna Salai between Teynampet and Saidapet in Chennai.

Accompanied by Public Works Minister E.V. Velu and Health and Family Welfare Minister Ma. Subramanian, the Chief Minister reviewed the progress of the 3.2-kilometre-long elevated stretch, which is being constructed at an estimated cost of ₹621 crore. Officials briefed him on various stages of the project, including pillar erection and superstructure works.

Mr. Stalin instructed officials to expedite construction to ensure timely completion of the project. He also directed authorities to take measures to streamline vehicular movement along stretches where pillar works have already been completed, in order to minimise traffic congestion.

Later, in a post on X, the Chief Minister described the elevated corridor as a future landmark for Chennai, stating that it would be dedicated to public use as part of what he termed “Dravidian model 2.0.”
