Seaplane Service Trials Launch Between Vijayawada and Srisailam, Aiming to Boost Tourism in Andhra Pradesh.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu inaugurated a seaplane demonstration flight from Prakasam Barrage in Vijayawada to Srisailam in Nandyal district recently, marking a significant step toward boosting tourism in the state.

The Chief Minister boarded the seaplane at Punnami Ghat on the Krishna River in Vijayawada. Within an hour, he arrived at the Srisailam reservoir in Nandyal, where he was welcomed by district officials alongside Union Civil Aviation Minister K. Ram Mohan Naidu.

Following the flight, Naidu took a ropeway up a nearby hill by the Srisailam reservoir and then boarded a bus to reach the Sri Bhramaramba Mallikarjuna Swamy Varla Devasthanam, where he offered prayers.

Addressing a press conference in Srisailam, Naidu described the experience as “novel,” highlighting the 40-minute journey and the smooth water runway. “I landed in the midst of nature,” he said, emphasizing the potential of such services to enhance regional tourism.
