Sanjiv Goenka, Chairman of the RP-Sanjiv Goenka Group, recently announced a capital expenditure plan of ₹15,800 crore to strengthen infrastructure in West Bengal’s energy, education, and healthcare sectors.
Speaking at the Business and Industry Conclave 2025, Goenka lauded the “decisive leadership” of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, which he said has enabled swift investment, noting that the group has already invested ₹26,500 crore during her tenure.
A key highlight of the new investment is a landmark energy project — a 5,000 megawatt-hour (MWh) storage facility, with an estimated cost of ₹12,000 crore, aimed at boosting the state’s energy infrastructure.
