RCC Nutrafill to Establish ₹100 Crore Food Processing and Life Sciences Hub in Angamaly.
RCC Nutrafill has officially begun construction on a new ₹100 crore food processing and life sciences facility at the KSIDC Business Park in Angamaly, near Kochi. The company held a 'bhoomi pooja' and foundation stone-laying ceremony on Sunday to mark the start of the project.
The new facility, a first of its kind, is designed as an integrated hub combining cold storage, warehousing, research and development (R&D), and logistics. It will handle a wide range of products, including life sciences and fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG).
The company projects that the plant will create 500 direct and indirect jobs across its two-phase development. The facility will be equipped with USDA-accredited technology, allowing it to process food, marine, spice, agricultural, and medical products while ensuring global safety standards and extended shelf life.
A key feature of the new hub will be Kerala's first Gamma Irradiation facility. This technology is crucial for extending the shelf life of products without compromising their quality.
Spread across five acres, the project's first phase is expected to be completed within the next 24 months.
