Rashmi Group Announces ₹35,000 Crore Expansion Across Steel, Mining and Power.

City-based Rashmi Group recently unveiled a fresh investment plan worth ₹35,000 crore in West Bengal, spanning the steel, power and mining sectors as part of its major expansion strategy.

In a statement, the diversified conglomerate said more than ₹30,000 crore will be deployed to expand its iron and steel manufacturing capacity by an additional 7 million tonnes per annum (MTPA), significantly scaling up its production footprint in the state.

The remaining ₹5,000 crore will be invested in operationalising three coal mines acquired in Birbhum and Paschim Bardhaman districts, strengthening the group’s backward integration in raw material supply.

Earlier in January, Rashmi Group had signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Telangana government for projects worth ₹12,500 crore, underscoring its broader expansion plans across multiple states.

The latest investment announcement reinforces the group’s focus on building an integrated industrial ecosystem across steel production, mining and power generation in eastern India.
