Mumbai Metro Line 3: Trial Runs Begin on Dharavi–Acharya Atre Chowk Stretch.
Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation (MMRC) has commenced trial runs on the 9.77-km Dharavi–Acharya Atre Chowk section of Metro Aqua Line 3 (Phase 2A). The corridor is expected to be operational by the end of the 2024-25 financial year, with the official launch anticipated to be flagged off by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The new metro route is set to enhance connectivity in Mumbai, easing congestion and providing an affordable alternative to road transport. The section will include six stations: Dharavi, Shitla Devi Mandir, Dadar Metro, Siddhivinayak, Worli, and Acharya Atre Chowk.
As of February 20, Mumbai Metro Line 3 has recorded a total ridership of 26.63 lakh with an average punctuality of 99.60%. Ticket fares for the metro range from ₹10 to ₹50.
