Merlinhawk Composites Launches New Advanced Composites Facility in Tamil Nadu Defence Corridor.

Bengaluru-based Merlinhawk Aerospace Pvt. Ltd., in partnership with Italy's Vega Composites, has inaugurated an advanced composites manufacturing facility at Shoolagiri in the Tamil Nadu Defence Industrial Corridor, strengthening India's aerospace and defence manufacturing capabilities.

The new facility, operated by Merlinhawk Composites & Engineering Pvt. Ltd. in Krishnagiri district, will manufacture advanced composite aerostructures and high-performance materials for next-generation aerospace and defence platforms. These include aircraft, unmanned aerial systems, radar structures, electronic warfare systems and other high-performance defence applications.

R. Ramachandra Rao, Founder and Managing Director of Merlinhawk Aerospace, said the increasing adoption of advanced composite materials in global aerospace platforms underscores the need for India to develop integrated capabilities in design, materials and manufacturing.

"Through our partnership with Vega Composites, we are combining global technology expertise with Indian engineering capabilities to build a manufacturing ecosystem that supports domestic programmes while positioning India as a competitive player in global aerospace supply chains," Rao said in a statement.

The facility marks a significant addition to the Tamil Nadu Defence Industrial Corridor and is expected to contribute to the development of a domestic ecosystem for advanced aerospace manufacturing.
