L&T Secures ₹10,000 Crore Electrification Contract for High-Speed Rail Project

On Tuesday, Larsen & Toubro (L&T) announced its successful bid for a substantial contract from an authorized Japanese agency to construct an electrification system for the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed rail project in India. Valued in the range of Rs. 10,000 crore to Rs. 15,000 crore, this project is considered the largest single rail-electrification order in India, as per company executives.

The project marks a significant milestone as it involves the implementation of Japanese Shinkansen High-Speed Electrification Technology, making it the first of its kind in India. Upon completion, the electrification system is expected to enable trains to achieve speeds of up to 320 kmph, further advancing the transportation capabilities in the region.
