LAPL Automotive Expands Manufacturing Footprint with New Unit IV Facility.

LAPL Automotive Limited has commenced construction of its fourth manufacturing facility at Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra, while also securing three new vendor codes from leading automotive companies, strengthening its manufacturing capacity and customer pipeline.

The company completed the Bhumi Pujan ceremony for the upcoming Unit IV in the presence of its promoters, senior management and employees. Construction of the facility will be carried out in phases, subject to the required approvals, registrations and certifications from relevant authorities.

The new facility is being developed to support LAPL Automotive’s future growth and rising customer requirements. It is expected to house manufacturing and testing infrastructure for a wider range of products, including automotive lighting systems, electrical accessories and electronic components.

LAPL Automotive also plans to progressively increase its in-house manufacturing capabilities at the new facility, providing additional capacity for its expanding product portfolio.

Separately, the company has received three new vendor codes from leading automotive companies, giving it access to upcoming requests for quotations (RFQs), development programmes and sourcing opportunities.

Vendor codes are issued by automotive customers after evaluating suppliers on parameters such as manufacturing capabilities, quality systems, plant infrastructure, engineering and design capabilities, testing facilities and delivery readiness. The new approvals make LAPL Automotive eligible to participate in sourcing processes for current and upcoming vehicle programmes, although any specific order remains subject to the respective customers’ commercial and technical evaluations.

Neeraj Satyaprakash Goyal, Chairman and Managing Director of LAPL Automotive, said the new facility and vendor approvals together would provide the company with a stronger platform for its next phase of growth.

“The Bhumi Pujan of Unit IV is an important moment for LAPL. Over the past two decades we have added capability unit by unit, and this facility is the next stage of that journey,” Goyal said.

He added that the three new vendor codes would open access to enquiries and development programmes while reflecting customer confidence in the company’s engineering and quality systems.
