Karnataka Soaps and Detergents Limited Plans Major Global Expansion, Eyes 50 Markets.

Karnataka Soaps and Detergents Limited (KSDL), the maker of the iconic Mysore Sandal Soap, is accelerating its global expansion plans even as strong domestic demand continues to underpin its profitability.

The state-run company is aiming to expand its international footprint to 50 countries by March, up from the current 25 markets, which include the United States, Canada and Australia. At present, exports account for just about 1 per cent of its overall revenue, indicating significant headroom for growth.

“In the last three years, we have tripled net profit from ₹182 crore to about ₹450 crore,” Managing Director Dr Prashanth PKM. He added that the company is targeting a net profit of ₹500 crore by March 31, 2026.

KSDL’s renewed export push comes as it seeks to leverage the strong brand recall of Mysore Sandal Soap in overseas markets while continuing to capitalise on robust demand at home.
