Hyundai Establishes EV Battery Research Center of Excellence at IIT Delhi

Hyundai Motor Group inaugurated its Hyundai Centre of Excellence (Hyundai CoE) for future mobility technology at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi recently.



This new center is strategically designed to accelerate research and development in the crucial areas of electrification and battery technologies, marking a significant step in Hyundai's long-term strategy for collaboration between academia and industry.



The initiative will commence with nine joint research projects, undertaken in partnership with various IITs. These projects will focus on critical aspects of battery technology, including battery cells, battery management systems (BMS), energy density, safety, durability, and diagnostic technologies. Furthermore, the center will delve into the exploration of novel materials and system components to foster innovation in battery design and overall performance.
