Five companies lined up for green field Urea projects : Govt

Five fertilizer companies, including cooperative major Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative Ltd (IFFCO), have shown interest in setting up new greenfield urea projects in the country, the government said today.

The companies are IFFCO (Nellore fertilisers project), Matix Fertilisers and Chemicals (West Bengal), Duncan Industries Ltd (Kanpur), Gujarat State Fertilisers Company (Dahej) and Oswal Chemicals and Fertilisers.

The capacity of each of the proposed urea plant is 1.15 tonne per annum each and is estimated to cost Rs 4,500 crore each
